CALCULATION METHOD CALIBRATION

Inicio  Anterior  Siguiente

Every study uses a calculation method for the simulations. This calculation method is based on one of the most common propagation models which are already implemented in Xirio.

Sometimes, however, common propagation models are not accurate enough in certain situations so that they need to be customized. Xirio allows the customization of a calculation method using data available from a measures campaing. First, these data must be loaded for calculating and visualizing the route of the measures. Once it is done, the action to "Calculate the adjusment of measures" launches a calibration proccess by carrying out a least squares algorithm to compare the measured values and the theoretical results provided by Xirio. An editable calculation method is proposed as a result of the calibration. The following image shows the different parameters that can be considered in this calibration process: effective height of the transmitter, distance, frequency, diffraction losses.

A report and a graph will be created as a result of the calibration process. The report contains numerical data regarding the adjustment, such as the root mean squared error and the resulting calculation method parameters, that is, the weights corresponding to the different parameters that were selected to be calibrated. On the other hand, the graph shows a visual representation to compare the measured values and the values provided by the new calculation method at the same point of measure.

This new calculation method it is not assigned automatically to the studies however. Selecting the "Adjustment result" in the legend panel, the new calculation method can be added to the catalog by clicking "Add method to catalog" in the actions panel. Then, the calculation method to be used in all the studies can be easily changed through the common modifications.
